One can safely say that what Henzel & Disco Nova have done in the short amount of time they've been active is unparalleled - they are pushing boundaries in the electro scene! I had the pleasure of meeting them a few days ago and the good news are they show no signs of wanting to slow down!

Sometimes you may think they are seasoned pros, but actually they've been DJing and producing for only 3 years now. As part of the Amsterdam based creative collective vAgE gASTEN they have surprised the public with their diverse and compelling electro sounds by blending their beloved electro music with techno, creating a techno-oriented-electro-milkshake that is healthier than any tutti-frutti smoothies prepared by your grandmother. With designer BDID and the Melkweg in Amsterdam they now have their own clubnight "Rara Aves", a night where they gather some of the biggest players in the scene to spread the energetic power of electro-techno blended music - to date they have hosted shows with TWR72, NT89, DJEDJOTRONIC, Mumbai Science and Modek. Keep your eyes open, more will follow.

They have been part of 22tracks since its launch in 2009 and are still updating their electro chart weekly, where you can listen to the latest music in their genre and find out just how refined their taste is.

As producers they started to leave their creative brand with the highly acclaimed first original "Gimme 5" in collaboration with Baskerville, released last year on none other than Bart B More's Secure Recordings, that received a massive support from the likes of Fake Blood, TAI, Tiesto, Sound of Stereo, Alex Gopher and so on. Before that, some well received bootlegs for Daft Punk and Cassius had already put them on the spotlight - good news is that you can still get them for free on their SoundCloud page.
2012 started at high pace with finely crafted and pounding remixes for The Rox and Casino Gold and with the promise of new originals in the months to come - we can't wait! After having performed at some of Holland's biggest festivals like Mysteryland, Solar, Valtifest, and so on, more national and international dates are scheduled so keep your eyes open. The first of which will be in Berlin in a couple of weeks time - details here
Having read this it should be no surprise for you to see this duo the very forefront of the scene in a few years time; for me it's just a matter of when. Check out their exclusive mix for DJ Set of the Week, you're guaranteed to be in a much better shape after listening to it!
